Wire Techniques in Jewelry Design
With Wire as a Major Element
December 4, 2010 until January 31, 2011
The creativity and versatility of working with wire in jewelry design has captured the hearts of many Ohio Beaders. Some wire wrap semiprecious stones, others do chain maille, Viking knit, freeform wire sculpture, plus so many other techniques using wire in their jewelry designs. This Ohio Beaders Challenge honors those just learning how to work with wire as well as those who have become experts in manipulating wire in jewelry design. What is an Ohio Beaders Challenge? It is a call to all Ohio Beaders members to engage in a jewelry making related undertaking that is a personal test of one's abilities or resources and is demanding but stimulating to those engaged in it. The purpose is to "push" Ohio Beaders to make something they may not make otherwise. It is to stretch their beading limits.
When? This Challenge is a time limited event starting December 4, 2010 and runs until January 31, 2011. Items submitted must be made during this time period and submitted by January 31, 2011.
Theme? The theme is Wire Techniques in Jewelry Design which means they made a piece of jewelry with wire as a major element. Memory wire and stringing wire are not considered major wire elements.
